Form for what should remain
01
Thesis
Design is not decoration. It is a form of recognition.
Before something can be beautiful, it has to be understood: What is the material? Which position carries the project? Which order is missing? Which fractures should remain visible?
Working note
I make visible what has not yet fully found its form — and develop from it a visual language that remains usable.
02
Method
From material to direction. From draft to system.
I think of design as movement between material, attitude and application. Not everything has to look finished immediately; some things first have to become readable.
I do not work through a rigid four-step model. The movement is closer to repeatedly switching between reading, ordering, designing and testing. A project rarely starts with a perfect briefing. It starts with material: a topic, an existing logo, a text, a space, an exhibition idea, a song, a book, a website, a feeling of “not like this”.
From that, a visual direction emerges. It shows itself in typography, rhythm, image language, tone, colour, white space and in the question of how much idiosyncrasy a project may keep without becoming unreadable. The design is then treated not as a single image, but as a system: it has to work on small and large surfaces, digitally and in print, as a main motif and as a secondary format.
In the end, design should not merely be liked. It should remain usable for people who need to work, communicate, explain, sell, remember or become visible with it.

Register
Terms and clients belong together.
A term does not float above the work. It filters the register below and shows which clients, media and tasks are connected to it.
Where work is publicly visible, the website link leads directly to the corresponding project.
All registered work — randomly mixed and readable in small portions.

Notes
Marginal notes. Form, responsibility, effect.
These marginal notes are not a second stage, but a working edge: short essays on the decisions that carry design — position, responsibility, type, illustration and digital lightness. Pull them from the margin to read not about finished outcomes, but about the thinking behind them.

N01 / Position
Graphic design makes position visible.
Before something becomes beautiful, it has to become clear what it stands for. Design translates position into form, rhythm, weight and application.

Sustainability begins before paper.
Sustainable graphic design is more than material choice. It asks whether a visual system can last long enough not to be constantly reinvented.

Typography is voice, not ornament.
Type decides how content speaks: factual, soft, loud, brittle, precise, accessible or resistant.

Illustration explains without merely depicting.
Illustration can connect atmosphere, action, character and knowledge — not as decoration, but as its own form of understanding.

Digital design should stay light.
A website does not have to become heavy to be distinctive. Good digital design guides, loads fast, remains accessible and still has character.
